Violinist Mizuki Takagi had her official solo recital debut at the age of 15 performing the Bruch Concerto in G minor, and has since appeared as soloist with Peninsula Youth Symphony, Palo Alto Philharmonic performing Ravel's Tzigane, Bob Cole Symphony Chamber Orchestra in Germany and various other orchestras. While touring Germany, the Mitteldeutsche Zeitung Newspaper featured one of her performances calling her “…young, colorful and virtuosic.” As a teenager, she was the winner of the Music Teachers' Association of California's VOCE branch competition, as well as a Mondavi Young Artists Competition Semifinalist, and had served as concertmaster for Peninsula Youth Orchestra for years. As a student, she was given full scholarship to attend the prestigious Conservatoire Américain of the Ecoles d'Art Américaines in Fontainebleau, France, and performed all over Europe with orchestras.
Although she is very passionate about performing, she also loves teaching. She served as guest faculty at Capriccio Music Festival, and has been teaching violin to kids of all ages. She is currently part of MTAC’s Torrance Branch.
Outside of the classical world, she enjoys collaborating with other artists; she recorded on Bryan Lanning’s album “Us,” and has performed alongside Billie Eilish, Danny Elfman, Seth McFarlane, Hey Violet, John Summit, AJ Mitchell, and other artists. She also records regularly for TV shows and movies, such as Avatar 2, Prey, Family Switch, Star Trek: Lower Decks and Discovery, and many more.
Mizuki’s true passions are in chamber music, both performing and coaching. She plays in various chamber performances throughout Los Angeles and Orange County.
Mizuki began her musical studies at the age of 5 in Michigan, and later moved to the Bay Area and studied music with renowned violin teacher Jenny Rudin in Palo Alto. She finished her Bachelor of Arts degree as a violin performance major at University of California, Los Angeles studying with both Movses Pogossian and Guillaume Sutre, and she also received her Masters in violin performance as well at Bob Cole Conservatory of Music, studying with Henry Gronnier.
